- What is Net Med?
A Network for the setting up of an artistic community in the Mediterranean.
- What are the reasons for Net Med?
The setting up of a national network between the institutions of Higher Artistic and Musical Education that are working to promote a meeting point between different cultures and ethnic groups and to promote concrete initiatives on the subject of equal opportunities. The network will initially be composed of Institutes present on the Italian territory and then will share its matured experiences with all the other similar institutions in the countries around the Mediterranean basin.
- Who promoted it?
The leading Administration is the Ministry of Universities and Research – General Direction for Higher Artistic and Musical Education, in partnership with the following institutions:
• Higher Institute for Artistic Industries ISIA in Florence • Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara • Academy of Fine Arts of Catania • Conservatory of Music of Genoa • Conservatory of Music of Salerno • Conservatory of Music of L'Aquila • National Academy of Ballet in Rome
The partnership, which is expected to function in consultation and support of the programme, is composed of the Presidency of the Cabinet – the Department of Rights and Equal Opportunities, the Region of Campania, the Region of Abruzzo, the Region of Sicily, the Region of Piemonte, the Region of Lazio, the Region of the Marche, the Region of Sardinia, CGIL, CISL, UIL, UGL –, ENAR – SOS Racism Italy - National Board for the Deaf-and-Dumb, CIDUE.
